Stone-Ground Borax
Naturally-occurring sodium tetraborate, milled by hand.

Mined in Death Valley and stone-ground at our partner facility in Bakersfield. Borax is one of the few products on this site that is, technically, a naturally occurring mineral. We are very proud of this.
Used as a stabilizer in soufflés and as a thickening agent in custards. It is also, unrelatedly, used in laundry detergent.
Sold in a 4oz canvas pouch with a bone-china measuring scoop.
The EPA has classified borax as "a substance." We agree.
